Had the family in town and needed to watch the Saints game downtown prior to Cirque show. We ate at Lucys since they had a good bit of TV's. Does anyone like the food there? They put black beans in almost everything they cook. Which wouldnt be a too bad if the black beans were actually cooked right. The texture was ruined from biting into a bean that turned into a dry grainy powder. My wife had ordered a quesadilla that was pretty much burnt.

One of the worst meals I have had in BR in the last 5 years.

I agree. I had jury duty a while back and walked down to Lucys with a couple of the people attending JD with me. Across the board everybodys food was crappy. Lesson learned and Ill never eat there again. I will continue to go there to party tho.

It hasn't been great for me but the service has been awful. I do like the margaritas though. Burgers are ok but nothing special. It's about all I will eat there now. Had some tacos one time that were good but twice after that they were bad.

All I've ever had there is the pulled pork and I always enjoy it. But like I said, it's the only thing I've ever had there. I get the pulled pork tacos or sliders every single time.

never eaten at that one but I like the breakfast skillet at the one in NOLA for hungover brunch.

I had the sliders the time I went. I cant remember which type tho. Maybe I got a bad batch. It also could have been that I was expecting more than I should have. It is a bar after all but I guess since it was set up for lunch and everything I thought it would be better than just bar food. I MAY give it another shot but if I am in that area and looking for something to eat there are just too many places besides lucys to go.

Same for me. The brunch was excellent in NOLA. I actually forgot they had one in BR.

Oh absolutely. I don't blame you. Most reviews I've heard from Lucy's are similar to yours, so I may have just gotten lucky when I went.

I would expect the one in NO to be better since it is the first one and the mgrs there prolly hold them to a little higher standard. I have never been to the one in NO but I need to go check it out.

Has anyone been to both? Are they pretty much the same?

If it's still the same head chef, and I use that word reluctantly, then food is gonna be terrible. How do you frick up bar food?

This is my problem with it.. I expected bar food and it was almost inedible.. How do you screw up a quesadilla and serve it burnt? How to you put HARD beans in a tortilla? The only thing that was edible was the salsa and stale chips.

I would be willing to bet that is what the word means neway. Its was probably spelled aweful at some point in the words hitory and evolved over the years into awful. You can be in awe of things that are good or bad FWIW.

The one time I ate there, the food was terrible as well. They burnt my fiances burger to a crisp, and the "steak" in my quesedilla was worse than u get at taco bell. I will never be back.

I expected nothing more than bar food, and the menu looks good, but i was in AWE of its awfulness much like the op.

I wanted to go there instead but the wife overruled because she wanted more options than just pizza.
