Hilton Houston Plaza/Medical Center....Any suggestions as to restaurants near the hotel?

Nothing super close, but you aren't too far from Kirby/Rice Village/West U. I'd suggest:

Benjy's
Cafe Rabelais
Antica Osteria
Raven Grill
Goode Co.

Hugo's for high end mexican (best Rita in town,IMO)
El tiempo or Pico's for Texmex
West Alabama Ice House for street taco and beer

Have a car? Local Foods, Benjy's, Instanbul Grill in the Rice Village....Goode Company Seafood a little further down Kirby, Kata Robata, Queen Vic, El Tiempo, Luna Pizza a little further down/off Richmond.....in the Montrose-Pax Americana, Hugo's, Vinoteca Poscol, Hay Merchant/Underbelly, Uchi, Niko Niko, Common Bond

If the past holds true this will not keep people from continually starting a thread about restaurants, hotels or bars. It will become nauseating leading up to the game.

yep.

I hope visitors realize Houston has a bar or restaurant about every 10 feet. Finding an adult beverage or decent meal should be fairly easy.

How about steakhouses? Have reservations Friday night at Vic & Anthony's but would prefer somewhere I haven't been.
