Can't seem to find it for Louisiana. I know the season has started. I'm trying to find a guess on season length and time.

Just bought a 15 lb bag yesterday for $20.00 on the corner of Hwy 19 and Pride Port Hudson Road. They were from a farm south of Jackson, MS.
Now I need someone to tell me how to boil. Also how in a pressure cooker. And how much salt or seasoning.

I fill my pressure cooker about 3/4 full and use a cup of salt. You’re not going to soak or boil then forever so no need for tons of salt. I get mine up to pressure then kill the heat completely. About 20-30 minutes later if the pressure hasn’t released itself I release it and take the lid off. Let them cool some then drain it.

I bought a 15 lb. bag from that guy as well. Nice and clean.
Here is what I do (same thing for 20 years always come out good.) I do this on Fri. evenings.
I normally use 10 lb. peanuts, 1 lb. salt and 1 lb. package of crab boil.
Bring all to a boil then reduce to a simmer covered for at lest 3 hrs. Turn off heat and let soak overnight. Next morning test peanuts for texture... if they are done to your liking just re-heat and place in insulated cooler for warm peanuts at tailgate or whatever ...if they need to cook more let them cook till.
I freeze left overs in zip lock bags and they will keep for a year. I do this several times during the season and have boiled peanuts for a year.

No but I don’t like them mushy. A little crunch. They’re probably in there more than an hour between coming up to pressure and then coming off and cooling down.

I'm not even sure La grows many peanuts.
They are in season now probably coming from Florida and Mississippi mostly.
Produce stand in Ponchatoula has them for sale by the pound, half sack and whole sack.
I hate that nobody down towards Nola does the green peanut thing.

Halloween is a good target for the end of the season. Won't last after first freeze. I try to wait til cooler weather to buy a couple of sacks and boil to put up in the freezer.

I boil 4 1/2 lbs in my pressure cooker for 35 min, then set the pot in a sink with water to drop the pressure. Freeze leftovers in gallon Ziplock freezer bags.

1st. time I've seen him also. Usually their is a watermelon farmer there during the summer... I never saw him this year.
Often there is a guy selling peanuts at the Clinton courthouse.

The watermelon guy was there a lot. I bought a couple from him on my way up to my place.
And there was a bad wreck on 19 between the 955's Saturday night and a guy got killed. That is a dangerous road and I'm always aware because I run it multiple times a week.
