There’s a guy I know who boils in a water with a lil salt, and only till they come to a boil. Dumps in an ice chest, throws dry seasoning on them, then cajun power garlic sauce, then hits them with a good bit of lemon juice. Close the top and shakes them for 15-20 seconds and lets sit for 10 minutes. I know some will think this is crap, but some of the best bugs I’ve eaten, you won’t taste the garlic sauce nor the lemon juice, nor do you have the seasoning on your hands, the taste is just well seasoned.

Not saying this is the case, but you do know that there is a "Boston" (pronounced the "French" way) in Vermilion Parish, right?

well then you haven't cooked a massive amount with a single pot. Done correctly (not plain water) you can have a sack out every 15-20mins with a couple ice chests and a single pot.

That's fine and all but you're not getting juicy heads like if you let them soak for 25 minutes. The most I've ever boiled at home is 6 sacks, 2 at at time so 3 boils. I didn't need an ice chest. Just about the time the first batch was almost wiped out it was time for the 2nd batch to be dumped. I've had ice chest crawfish a ton as my wife's people are from Lafayette. All of her cousins do it that way. They're not terrible but they're not as juicy as crawfish that soak longer.

I thought putting lemon juice on the crawfish right before eating might bring out the flavor.

I've done it this way before after I spread them out on the table. I actually liked it but it's not for everyone I guess.

I swear you people equate boiling crawfish to mixing chemicals in a lab. We need a mega-crawfish thread for dumb questions like this.

Then they’re not soaking them long enough, because I soak and them still layer and shake for those who want hotter/more seasoned on the shells.

I personally prefer them with nothing layered, but by the end of the boil, I’m digging in that damn ice chest as well.

Soooooo, whats up? Here is what you dont get, Bug and I know each other outside of this. And what do people that know each other do? mess with each other. But really a 35# sack arent really huge. as what i said was mid 20s are. So dont you go lying now.

I will admit i missed the OP intentions of getting a sack and a half. reading back through it idk how.

but look at some of the people you have to deal with on this board,
