I wonder if the general population accidentally leaves out food in the quantity and variety that posters here on TD do.

Every damn week there's a post like this. I left my __________ out overnight, is it safe to eat?

think these boys drink a bit too much and forget about it.

I don't care what it is, cooked food overnight goes in the trash.

I would have no problem re-heating and eating the lasgna.

If you covered it while room temperature should be no issues.

If you covered it while hot or significantly warm it probably created some condensation which has a greater chance of bacteria to grow. Things could get dicey then. If you microwave(nuke) to a bubbly temperature you will likely be ok if you are worried.

I had a roommate who did this all the time with almost all types of food. Left it out overnight and ate the next day. He was constantly shitting through a screen door, and always wondered why. Hard pass.

Yes, there will be issues. Why would there not be? This just means the food was sitting out at room temperature and room temperature isn’t safe for hours.

I will throw away $200 worth of food before I gamble on going through that again. Miserable

Same for me. I've only had food poisoning twice in my 71 years but the last time was over a late night stop for raw oysters at a bar in St. Bernard Parish.

It hit me late the next day and hung around for about 4 more with the first 2 days being the worst. It was all I could do just to try to stay hydrated and if I put a pint and a half of something in me, I was shooting out 2 1/2 quarts soon after.

I probably lost 10 lbs. over those 4 days not being able to eat anything.
