I think the point some, including me, were trying to make was that some people talk about Louie's like it's a culinary dining destination...it isn't. It's a local diner. That doesn't make it bad.
Fair enough. And I probably like them as much for nostalgic reasons as the food, even with the move. It's like the debates over Camellia Grill.The last time we got the loaded hashbrowns, though, they were as good as ever.
Back when they had normal hours and a dinner menu, I used to like the dinner specials and the fresh nachos with their chili. It's not cheap eats anymore, but I don't know too many local places worth anything that are these days. More so if they can't rely on alcohol sales to offset food cost.
Let's hope they have a bright future.

I live in the North Gate area, rumor in the neighborhood is the long time GM bought it. Would be nice if they went back to 24 hrs, we'll see.

Been going there for 40 years. Once a week up until around 2018. The consistency in the quality of the meals absolutely dropped off and got progressively worse the past 10 years.

I hope the tradition continues on. It's not the first time Louie's has sold or had different people running it. It would great if they could open for dinner at least some nights, even if they can't swing 24 hours anymore.
It's a shame college students today don't get to experience that place after 2AM.
