Best bang for your buck steakhouse is The Steakhouse at Circus Circus. Cooked over lump charcoal.

Next, if you're really wanting to pay top dollar, Prime at Bellagio.

Prime at Bellagio is probably best if taking a date- ask for a view of the fountains.

Wynn steakhouse and stripsteak (Mandalay bay) are really good too.

Mastros and Del friscos are both awesome, but are chains, and not exclusive to Las Vegas.

Nope nope nope. This place is absolutely horrible. Do not waste your time and money.

For the OP, check out Sage in the Aria.

I’ve never been but I’m guessing “absolutely horrible” is overstated.

If you want a great old Vegas style meal then try Hugo's Cellar at the 4 Queens. My personal favorite.

I would easily have it in my top 10 worst dining experiences. Take that for whatever it’s worth.

Granted, I could have just gone on an off night. That's certainly possible. But I've seen others on here talk about how bad they thought Craftsteak was as well, so I know I'm not the only one.

If you are looking for a romantic dinner and are at least a month out, try to book a window table at the Eiffel Tower Restaurant in the Paris Hotel. If you don't get laid after that you are doing it wrong.

The SW Steakhouse in the Wynn is excellent. I have also heard good things about Prime in the Bellagio but have never been.

What were the issues?
My only reference to Collichio is Top Chef so that's my interest.

The service was really poor. I understand when a place is busy that things can take time, and I'm nothing if not patient with servers. A few of the memorable issues:

1. Whenever we were ready to order a bottle of wine, we were told the "sommelier" would come over with recommendations. Great, I'm certainly no wine expert so I'm happy to have him come by and help. It took him about 25 minutes to get to us, after we asked twice if we could please just order a bottle. The guy honestly wasn't very knowledgeable, and kind of seemed off-put by the fact that we had the audacity to want to keep the price at around $120.

2. The food came out, and we both had ordered our steaks medium rare. One of them was cooked properly, the other was something closer to a medium-well. Way overcooked. I was looking for the ketchup that was supposed to come with it. Honestly though, mistakes happen. Maybe they mixed up an order and brought a medium rare to the wrong table and brought us the wrong one? I politely asked the server, who took a long time to come check on us, if they could re-do the order. FWIW I did not take a single bite of the steak, so this wasn't an issue of me being an arse and trying to get a free extra steak out of the deal. The server looked annoyed that I even asked, but fixed it. There was never really even a half-assed "sorry about that."

3. The food was...fine. It was your typical steakhouse, really nothing you couldn't get at any other steakhouse in the country. It was pretty forgettable. Honestly though, I was so annoyed with the way we had been treated that I was already in a bad mood and that could have attributed to my enjoyment of the food itself.

FWIW, Tom Collichio's restaurant Craft in New York is fantastic.

i'm one of the others that routinely blasts craftsteak.

my first experience there was similar to abita's; the service lackadaisical and the food was unremarkable.

however, i did return a few months ago as part of a large group for a business event, and it was much better.

all that said, there are a million steakhouses in las vegas, and i'd still recommend many others before trying craftsteak. the only caveat to that is if you're staying at the MGM grand and you go there out of convenience.
