Double grilled bacon cheeseburger with grilled onions from Max’s.
Are they back open yet? They had a fire.

Bread and circus pizza
Hub city diner - nothing outstanding but close by
Judice inn burger
Pass on Dons and Deano’s.

Forgot about that. I’m not sure.

Close to you is Antoni’s and cafe bella. Both are good Italian.
ETA: I would pass on Don's unless you get the jacked up oysters.

Don's. Get at least a cup of the crawfish bisque.
If you get tempted by Prejean's, try the alligator-crab cheesecake.
Both places are medium priced and make traditional local fare. Neither of them are Michelin Star restaurants, nor are they favorites of some on here. I'm just suggesting them so you can get a taste of the local flavors.
Go to Don's, get the Jacked Up Shrimp or Jacked Up Oysters appetizer. Thank me later.

Edit: I’ll personally vouch that Pete’s is still good if you just wanna drink some beer, eat a burger, and watch TV at the bar. But I’d never say they were the best at anything.
Is Social (next door and same ownership) still a good place? I haven’t been in a while, but they always have a nice bar setup

Some good suggestions in this thread, just to add a lunch option, Viva La Waffle recently opened on Kaliste Saloom.

You should also try Blanchard's for lunch.

I’m from right outside of Baton Rouge. Rarely get this way though

Social still has solid groceries, ate their 2 weeks ago.
OP - another option, Mazen Grill as their fresh fish dishes and menu reminds me of GW Fins. Price range: $10-15 apps, and main dishes around $30. MG could be the best restaurant in Lafayette that people seem to overlook.

Blanchard's or Tchoup's for BBQ?
I still need to try both asap, but which one first?

Better BBQ: Blanchard’s
Better Atmosphere: Tchoup’s
I’d say Blanchard’s.
Haven’t had Social in a while either.

So I ended up going to Pete’s for a burger last night. Been 20 years since I been there. Burger was pretty good. The onion strings on the side were awesome. Almost every time you order these somewhere, they are greasy or in a loaf. Thin but crunchy on every bite. I know my onions and peppers
