Sushi Masa is damn good, but there’s usually a lengthy wait at peak time
Dragos on Johnston, but I haven’t been. If it’s as good as the Metairie location, you’ll be satisfied
Bone Fish is also a solid place

If you are feeling particularly famished you can get you one of these at Cafe Josephine.

OP could also consider going to Rock-N-Sake for sushi and walking over to Pour for a drink after.

Imonelli's on Johnston St
Antoni's in oil center
Uncle T's in Scott
Central Pizza downtown
Riverfront, Dupuy's, or Shucks in Abbeville. I know you said Laffy, but these are close enough and worth the drive
these are just a few I didn't see listed above. all of the other recs are good as well

Depends on what you're in the mood for but.....
Central Pizza, Social, Half Shell, Sushi Masa, Antoni's, Marcello's, Mazen are all great options. I actually enjoy Pour in Youngsville. They have a very underrated burger. If you pick Social, get an old fashioned and the smoked fried chicken.

Tsunami downtown, but only go on Tuesdays. It’s $4 large Sake, $3 beer, $5 martinis and 25% off rolls. Energetic atmosphere, just casual, don’t look like a bum attire.
