Sorry, but Cafe Josephine is not good for an anniversary type event. The room is noisy with bad lighting. The service is hit or miss, and the food is mostly miss. Would not take my wife
There for an anniversary. The picture above looks awesome. Arby’s looks great in photos too. You will not likely get a steak that looks like that.

I agree that it's not a romantic place. We've had good service. I don't love the food there. I love chargrilled oysters and people rave over theirs, but they are close to the best I've had. Not much sauce and the parmesan cheese on top is shredded and gets brown and hard. There are dishes that are good, though.

We saw those steaks served at the next table and they looked and smelled delicious.

Here's a thread on it with a lot of different viewpoints.

Since you're headed back north, you might want to consider Steamboat Warehouse in Washington. I haven't been in many years, but it gets good reviews.

It doesn't open until 5, but they may have someone taking reservations during the day.

I saw Dustin Poirier last time I was at Cafe' Josephine, so you know it's gotta be good.

He asked multiple times if he could wear a golf polo and shorts. He was going to Little Big Cup before asking for recs. I don't think he's looking for The French Laundry.

I ate @ Cafe Josephine last night for my granddaughter's b-day. Had a cup of seafood gumbo and the beef tongue plate. Both were excellent. Daughter's charbroiled oysters were very disappointing, they were the size of a quarter $28/dozen. I ordered the ribeye for my b-day back in February and it is a very good steak and filling. CJ is pretty loud and not very romantic for an anniversary dinner.

Unless you like the drive along the Couteau Ridge, you could do much better in Lafayette.

Thanks, but that has nothing to do with what was asked. There will always be that one Dickbag.

I know I am a day late but Marcello’s braised pork cheeks, sub out the polenta for risotto. My favorite meal in Lafayette.

You "literally" asked for "thoughts on that". I gave you my "thoughts on that".
You wanna discuss dickbag status?
