LA ranked 4th best state in US for food/drink

Look, there’s been so much waxing poetic about the cuisine of New Orleans over the years (both from within and from outsiders) that it gets to feel repetitive. You know all the buzzwords: Cajun and Creole, gumbo and jambalaya, po’ boys and crawfish étouffée, and so forth. It doesn’t change the fact that it’s all unspeakably delicious, which is why lesser versions of it constantly show up on menus around the country. Also, New Orleans may well be America’s finest drinking city, and we don’t just mean the shenanigans on Bourbon Street. Do yourself a favor next time you’re there and class it up for a few damn minutes while you enjoy a Ramos Gin Fizz at the Sazerac Bar.

Too low? Too high?

I can't bitch too much about that list.

Should be well ahead of Texas...

Coastal states have a large geographic advantage.
ETA: 14 of the top 20 have oceanic borders.

Personally, I can live with that.
There's some places in the U.S. I'd live just for the food, but probably only like three.
So yeah, that's about right.

Awesome that we can hang with those big states up top the list.

I have to agree on the Ramos Gin Fizz at the Sazerac Bar. I just had one there last week. A great drink.

As much weight as TD having their own ranking.
Texas at #2 ? Really?
I can't say I agree with this list. Most should be flipped around.

Florida coming in at 24. Where's that retard Florida fan at claiming his state was by far & away #1?

I would move NY to 2, Louisiana to 3, and Texas down around the bottom of the top 10.

When Alabama bests Colorado in food, give me a MF break.

If the goal of life was to eat cheddar cheese and maple syrup while drinking delicious craft beers that kind of taste like apricots, Vermont would be number one.
I see no issue with this goal.

In the minds of the editors or criteria they considered, but let me state a fact here. Colorado in general takes food much more seriously and does much better food than Alabama, and it's not close.

Do they? Denver has some legit restaurants and they obviously have the craft beer culture.
But outside of that, CO is just as rednecky as Alabama without the seafood.

It should be worth noting Louisiana is grouped in the top 5 along with states with significantly higher populations and area. Of course Texas, NY, and California are going to have more good places to eat, they have more in the first place.

decent list. a shame that Illinois is rated so high IMO. take Chicago out of there and it falls into the abyss.

And I like the list. I would put NY over Texas just bc of NYC, but Texas deserves a top ranking.

I'm content with being #4 after the 3 biggest states in the US.
