La Barca Caribbean Grill?

I see a sign on the building in Prairieville next to Wal-Mart that has been several other restaurants. Rocco's, Dempsey's etc..
Sign reads La Barca Caribbean Grill. Never heard of it. Anyone here know anything about this place?

It is a Caribbean Grill focusing on food and styles from the Caribbean founded by and cooked by people not from the Caribbean

It’s going to be a Mexican Caribbean Grill that has seafood.

I read that title 3 times before I realized it said Caribbean Grill and not Caribbean Girl.

I went multiple times and never had a good experience.... it was horrible.... some examples
Went one time and ordered, sat down and after 20 or so minutes watching the guy behind the cashier play on his phone, I asked about my order. He forgot to actually put it in because of well his phone. Was kinda like wtf it is essentially counter service... this was my last time going
Another time I ordered and completely wrong order, like I'm not sure what they brought me but it wasn't what I ordered, I chalked it up to the wrong table but then I had to wait
Another time they forgot my fries, then brought me fries that were cold and soggy....
My first time going they were just out of a few things so it wasn't an optimal experience as I ended up ordering something I didn't really want because they were out of what I wanted.

I agree, I always felt that Dempseys (along with Sammy's and Juban's) was one of the most overrated places in town

I miss Dempsey's food so much. I was at Jefferson location, however.
When you Google "La Barca Prairieville", an old Facebook page for a Mexican restaurant comes up. Wonder if it's the same owners.

Surprised. Folks on this site are usually on top of these things. Don't think I've seen a restaurant mentioned that no one here had any info about.

Dempseys seems to have gone downhill when the active poster associated with the place stopped posting.
I always had a decent meal there and never had to wait, easy in and out poboy place. Nothing to complain about just stopped being as consistent over time.
