Kitchen Renovation nearly complete - 1st Meal?
Long story short, we had to demo our kitchen as a part of a massive toilet overflow in our downstairs bathroom (damn toddler flushing paper towels and babywipes).

When it was all said and done, all of the cabinets and flooring had to be replaced. We took the opportunity to do a redesign of the kitchen layout and decided to replace the existing shitty 30" 4 burner range oven/stove combo to a nice powerful 36" range top (6 burners) and cabinet mounted double oven.

We've been without our kitchen since late November but the granite and new appliances are getting installed tomorrow to complete the work. We are looking to really do it up this weekend, but can't decide on what to cook.

If you had been without your kitchen for 2.5 months, what would be the first meal that you would prepare with your new toys?

well I would want to use everything, so reverse sear steak comes to mind since you could use your oven and your new range top

comfort food

Post pics of the completed project.

Where do you live? Who was your contractor? Who was your designer? What appliances did you go with? What was the total cost of new kitchen?

(I'm getting ready to do mine after I redo my bathrooms)

We live in the north Atlanta burbs. We used thumbtack to sub out everything ourselves rather than pay a GC. I guess the good news is that we only had to pay our insurance deductible and they covered everything else.

I think our cabinetry ended up being about 12-14k (not sure of the total cost).

Our flooring (we had to floor our entire 1st floor, about 2200 sqft or so) ended up being about $8 to $10 per sq ft. This included new baseboards and quarter round molding as well.

We ended up getting the following appliances from Best Buy:

Hood...

Rangetop (Kitchen aid KGCU467VSS) ...

Double Oven (Kitchen aid KODE500EBS)

Be sure to turn the oven on high to burn off all of the factory funk before you cook something in it.
