The Randazzo’s in Slidell is no longer accepting shipping orders this King Cake season. They have already met their quota. They told me that I can order the king cake and pick it up in the store, they have the shipping boxes there for three dollars extra. I will then have to go to UPS and do an overnight air shipping.
They are the only ones I like to order from
because I like the plastic containers they use for their king cakes ....it protects the king cake .
Has anyone ever shipped a king cake and do you know approximately how much it would cost?

Haydel's does an excellent job of shipping; it pioneered the shipped cake. The standard shipped cake comes with a few beads, commemorative trinket, etc.

Haydel’s would be my next choice; however , they wrap their cakes in those plastic bags before putting them in the shipping box like all the other bakeries .

Well I’ve gotten one mailed to me in northeast Ohio from Slidell every February for my birthday since I moved up here early 90’s , it’s always a day or two from expiration but I always appreciate it.

I just wrapped one in cardboard and sent it UPS ground to Michigan for $11. Bought the farthest out expiration date I could, but this time of year it’s going to be cold enough wherever it is heading up north to not worry much about spoilage.

Good luck with that.

Seriously though, it's not like it's going to go bad, but king cakes are best when very fresh. The shipping industry in general seems to be a mess right now.

Worked out great, shipped late on Monday and arrived in Detroit on Thursday. I drop all my packages at the UPS customer center in Elmwood and it seems to expedite the process. I think it’s worth it for anyone in the NOLA area. Gets to Jackson/Memphis within a day then wherever it needs to go from there quickly.
