Keurig Donut Shop Coffee Flavor - Why?

I know this isn't anything new, but every time I see this flavor, I just don't understand the appeal. Donut shop's don't typically have good coffee. In fact, most have watered down Folgers or whatever cheap brand of coffee that they can find. Just imagine seeing a brand of water that has a "Toilet Water" flavor. Someone please explain this to me...
This is one hell of a write up from the Keurig site.

Before coffee was complicated, great coffee was simply fresh, bold, and flavorful. This classic donut companion contains the highest quality Arabica beans... dunking is encouraged. Some people won’t admit it, but the best part of a donut is the coffee that goes with it. Without coffee, donuts are just another confection. But donut shop coffee? That’s a different story. The Original Donut Shop® Coffee lingers on your tongue and warms the soul. It brightens your day like a big scoop of sprinkles. And who doesn’t like sprinkles? If you go through life as if it’s a sweet surprise filled with jelly and covered in frosting, The Original Donut Shop® Coffee is for you.

FWIW every donut shop flavor Keurig I've had is in the top half of Keurig options I've tried.
I don't know how they do it, but I think the goal is to have a light but flavorful roast that's kind of sweet. That's pretty much how it tastes, once you get over the fact that it's Keurig so it's not going to be great to begin with.

Keurig. Marketed to the type of people that put 4 oz of CoffeeMate Hazelnut creamer in their coffee.

I did try it once and didn't care for it. It was easily the worst Keurig flavor I tried, but I've only had about 4. I don't drink it any more because it made my pee smell like farts. That was reason enough to believe that something in the coffee or plastic cannot be healthy.

Donut Shop is a brand not a flavor

Dunkin Donut is America’s largest retailer of coffee-by-the-cup.
So... what is it you don't understand?

Ok. But Keurig owns it is what my point was.

did not know Keurig owns that brand.
In that case, what Obrah says is even more relevant. There are multiple coffee companies that advertise the donut shop type coffee, so this seems like a marketing no brainer.
I don't like Dunkin Donuts coffee at all, but since millions do, they aren't wrong despite what many on the board think about food choices.

There aren't many k-cup coffees that are consistent.

Eight O'clock Dark Italian Roast ftw

The only Keurig K-Cup worth getting is this one:
Tastes bad (like all K-Cups do), but really packs a punch as far as caffeine is concerned.

Krispy Kreme Smooth. The best K-Cup I've tried.
