An electric smoker will definitely be on my christmas/birthday list. They sound great for weekends where you have yard work to do. Just let it cook while you get shite done. No checking the charcoal/temp.

I use Crystal Light, lemonade or apple, or ruby red grapefruit flavored, most of the time in the water pan..

Perfect timing for this thread as I just got one for my birthday this weekend as well!

I've had my Masterbuilt stainless electric smoker for years now, and it's great.
Turkey is incredible on there, as is the standards like ribs and butts.
Prime rib is my favorite. Set it at 225 with hickory chips, low and slow, to 120 degrees, foil and into a towel filled cooler to rest for an hour +.
Salmon is next on my to-do list.

Last week I was running late and called my wife and told her to put the ribs on the electric smoker...when I got home she says "if I knew it was that easy I would make you cook all the time" oh well, the secret is out now.

I posted here a little while ago to see if anyone had a Cookshack
I have owned a Cookshack for 25 years and love it. I cook at 175 degrees for 1/2 hour per pound. The only bitch I have about it, is that the water resevoir is a bit small, so I put an additional one in the bottom.............

Bump - for those of you who have the Brinkman electric smoker...I got one for our lakehouse yesterday and I can't find anywhere in the documentation where it talks about the temperature this thing gets to. Do any of you have any idea what temp this thing holds? TIA
