thats overpriced.

you can pick up a sous vide for $100 all the time if you watch amazon warehouse for a couple of days.

correct, that is the new price and they are now offering it at $150 tomorrow

if you pre-ordered back in January, it was $199, then it was $299 after that, but they have no changed the pricing and are refunding people that pre ordered it at $199

so you are correct, it is now normally going to be $199

Gotcha. Seems like a good deal, $300 is way too much though.

I'm sure they realized they needed to drop the price to compete with the Anova

i picked up the sansaire for $99 on amazon warehouse. cheapest is $140 at the moment for an open-box but check the page every couple of days and you'll see it drop to $100.

i like it very much. weighed the pros/cons of wifi and/or bluetooth and decided it really added no value to the way i planned to use this.
