I was maybe 6 years old the last time I ate there. I distinctly remember the taste of marinated crab fingers.

Bring maybe 20 minutes away, I would kill for it to be open again.

I also remember an excellent shrimp salad, though I can't recall anything other than the waitress giving my mother a questioning glance when a child ordered it

Seeing that menu makes my eyes water. Lots of memories with my parents and some of my friends. Loved the fried crab claws and the crawfish bisque. We used to order quarts of it to take home.

The peach Melba. I have childhood memories of that peach Melba. I would do anything to get my hands on that recipe.

I literally teared up seeing the shot of the interior.

Birthdays, anniversaries, graduations…a big part of my late teens, early 20s. I still have a menu signed by Joe and Diane wishing me a happy 18th birthday.

marinated crab fingers

Spent half my life a few minutes from there. I have probably eaten thousands of their crab fingers, sometimes several orders at a time. Good times.

It went down some when the owners sold it.

I often wonder why new owners invest so much into buying an established business and then think they know the customers better, changing things that made their investment successful before they took over.

Joe passed away last week. A great talent. He and Diane definitely created a special place. RIP, Chef.
