In Bangkok for work and unfortunately the city is on lockdown. Really nothing to do other than walk around, so i decided to stop by the celebrated, michelin starred street vendor's place. I figured it would not be the normal mess/wait with almost zero tourism here. And it's too expensive for locals. I was somewhat surprised to be the only one there ... promptly ordered the famous crab omelette with a side of drunken noodles with prawns. All very good, but normally there are a thousand dishes of equal quality and flavor available on the streets for a fraction of the cost. But with no wait ... it was cool to try it.

I'd love to go to Thailand, but it's just too intimidating, knowing I'd stick out like a sore thumb in a country where no one speaks my language.

My wife and I spent 3 weeks in Thailand and I never felt out of place

I’m sure we stuck out but it’s traveling, lots of lady boys around there

Lots of them speak English

I would go to Thailand, but I feel that way about China and Japan. It makes me nervous thinking about traveling there, so I think my anxiety would ruin my trip The congestion of the city and what I know about cultural norms regarding personal space just makes me too nervous.
