Going to New Orleans this weekend and I figured I'd get some gift certificates from restaurant.com because this weekend wasn't originally planned so we're trying to dine inexpensively.

I found a certificate for Jager Haus, which is half a mile from our hotel so we were going to eat there for lunch tomorrow before checking in and all. The reviews online all are positive, but you can never be sure exactly who is leaving them.

Have any of you been there? Do you like it? What would you recommend? Etc.

Thanks :D

Always call the establishment to make sure they'll accept those certificates....

Never heard of it. Are you going to make it out of the Quarter at any point?

Actually meeting another poster that lives in NOLA and he wants to take us uptown. But it's between lunch and dinnertime. We have dinner plans with someone else.

I'm open to dinner suggestions that are inexpensive though. (Not cheapass-inexpensive.. just more of a casual atmosphere) Preferably not too far since I really don't want to drive around. We're at The Roosevelt so anything in walking distance. (We like to walk so it can be a mile or so)

I just can't use Restaurant.com in BR much, so I figured I'd use it in NOLA. If I go somewhere that refuses to accept it, I'll be ok :) But we have a bunch of free certificates we'd like to use.

I have no idea. I didn't see that on the website, but I wasn't looking that hard.

Here are the reviews: LINK

They're like 95% positive so I assumed it would be okay.

looks like they tweaked the menu...which is a good thing based on the look compared to when it was posted on here a while back.

But, i have no idea if it's good.

I suck at searching on here. I searched the name together, with a space, and just the word "Jager" and found nothing.

I have eaten there a couple of times. Everything has been good. I remember getting a duck special once and forget what I got the last time. I will go back, but I like German food.

Decent spot actually. Love the euro-style coffee menu there. Those things should be in every coffee shop.
