it is widely loved by alot of people here
personally i think it is way overrated
i prefer other places near there much more

I concur...its good not great...the fun atmosphere is what sells most.
I would take Dick and Jenny's over it any day of the week...especially with the current Jazz Fest menu.

I wouldn't recommend getting anywhere near that place around jazzfest, unless you enjoy complete chaos.

its good. the menu is huge. agree that dick and jennys is better for that style of restaurant.

If you want to go someplace to have big party with decent food, than it is def. your place. By 6:30 on a weekend night the wait is over and hour and later I have seen it get to a 2 hour wait. That is why most of the people that go in end up half lit by the time the food gets there. They end up having a great time and the food taste better than maybe it would be if you were to sit down early without having been drinking.
Considering the atmoshphere and make up of the menu, I think everyone should go once, but I am not beating down the door for the food. Def. not interested in waiting in that line for it.

Jacqu-Imos is better than some of these more over hyped places in N.O. If there were one place I could bring an out of towner (and I have before) it would be there. They all loved it everytime.
Great Food and Drink in a shot gun house and you walk through the kitchen, it doesn't get anymore New Orleans than this. and jacque is drunk talking to patrons... how cool is that.

Most great N.O. chefs aren't even from New Orleans these days.

Being that I have not eaten my way through the city, the places that I have eaten that come to mind are Brennans, Galatoires, Cafe Adelade.

you can't really compare upscale dining places like those with Jacque Imo's. Different kind of food, different kind of atmosphere.

Its ok, but I would rather go to his poboy shop,crabby jacks, on Jefferson Hwy across from Lowes. They have good poboys and hot plate lunches! Better bang for the buck in my opinion.

I agree, I just don't "get" Jacque Imo's. I don't hate it, I don't love it. I would not wait 2 hours for it or go out of my way for it, but I would not refuse to eat there either.

although i don't prefer the "experience" they offer if i thought the food was great i wound endure the things i don't like about the place in general
my problem is (even just the food) i still prefer vincents and ja millas cafe more if i am looking for an "upscale casual" dining experience in that area
