Drago's is the place to be seen in Metry, brah...or Vincent's. If you are over 60, its Peppermill, Fury's or Bozo's.

I can explain the wait times at Houston's, Sweet Fire and Cheesecake Bistro, but then I would be accused of playing the race card, which is a sensitive issue these days.

Awe man, they have and ice bar man. You know an ice bar for your martinis and such.

I went in one night to have a drink by the fire pit. Walked in, turned around and left. Place was a zoo. I have never eaten there and don't plan on it unless someone else is paying and I have no say in the matter.

The desserts are the only redeeming quality of that restaurant.

good caesar salad...and good spinach dip (compared to the othe run of the mill places that sell it), but definitely not worth it

Their ribs and hickory burgers are good when I have to eat there (I have a friend who loves the place).

They do have a good Caesar, but that's about it. I think what you're alluding to is my same gripe - the price for the quality.

I haven't eaten there in about six years. I think I will make it 7.

Well, the people el tigre mentioned have to eat somewhere...

But if PF Changs is a place to see BR's elite, then thats just sad.

I don't think it's "the palce to be seen" at all. I don't get why it would be. When I am there, I see a lot of families (with young kids) and college-aged couples on dates. When I eat there, I almost always ask to be sat on the patio, just so I don't feel so claustrophobic. I don't like the layout in there at all.

It's not. I think that was a joke.

BR's be scene places are apprantly the Wine Loft, the Grapevine(or whatever the new Perkins Rowe places is) and any new sushi place that opens up.

And Old Metairie is seaprate from the Metry chain scene...

The places to be seen there: New City Grille, Vega Tapas, Chateau du lac, and of course MCC grill.

stupid question, but where is Old Metairie? I have to work in Jefferson Parish all day and generally leave too late for dinner so i just try and get back to the city as soon as possible. I try to drive around as little as possible in Metairie.

Old Metairie is roughly the area between causeway and the 17th street canal and airline and I-10...pretty much metairie road which is full of shops and local eateries and coffeehouses. Old Metairie is getting the best of both worlds since I am less than 10 minutes away from Mid City and Uptown and downtown is 10-15 away.

Vega, Chateau du lac, and New City Grill are probably the best restaurants...but Mark Twain's, Nor Joes and Radosta's are all neighborhood must-hits. Zeke's and Byblos are good as well...the latter is much better food-wise than the Magazine St. one.

Generally speaking, anything along Metairie Road.

Don't ask folks who live there though, because they will likely make HUGE distinctions depending where along or what side of Metairie Road you're talking about.

vaguely from the I-10 south through to Airline and from Causeway down to where I-10 meets the Metairie Rd/City Park Ave.

Go down Bonnebal toward Metairie Rd and take a right and you will run into the older part of Old Metairie where Mark Twains Pizza Landing, Vegas Tapas, Oscars, and Chateau Du Lac are all located.

Lots of trees and some nice houses in the area, but nothing too special.

is the traffic any better there than the rest of Metairie?

ALso, do any of those spots have decent lunch options....maybe handle an order for about 15-20 at about $12/head or under. Pickup, not dine in.
