Is one turkey neck enough to do anything with?

I pulled my bird out of the fridge this morning and there were no giblets, just a turkey neck. Can I make a descent gravy with just one turkey neck or should I just toss it?

Check for a little bag in the neck flap.

I really did fish in there really well and there was nothing but a neck. It's brining now but I will check again in the morning just to be sure.

That's odd. To your question, I tossed mine. FIL used to eat the neck and I would cook it in the pan under the turkey. He's no longer with us and it would go to waste either way,

Wrap it tin foil and cook it with the turkey (but not as long). Some people like to eat it.

Cut the back out of your bird and you san make a strong gravy with that and the neck.

Save the neck for me Clark.

My mother used to brown it and use any of the meat and remnants for gravy.

I usually boil the neck in a small pot to make a rich broth and then add the giblets if I have them. Take the meat off the neck, chop and add back to the broth to make the basis of the gravy.
