I've never brained it when frying but since I have time, should I brine it? Will it be salty if I brine, season outside and inject it.

Personally, I never have.
I have injected it many times and left it to sit overnight.

this is the recipe I have posted in my store .. some things may seem really basic and dumb, but I sell to yankees too.

Yes, it will.

That being said, the key obviously being don't overcook the bird, cause there's no coming back from that.

I read your bio on your website. You from Bordelonville? My mom and her side are from there.

another Avoyelles parish reject checking in. All I do to my fried turkeys is sprinkle some tony's on the outside and inject and let it rest overnight.

Had brined turkey today at a work lunch.
I'll have to find out who supplied it, but it was well seasoned, not salty, very moist and tasty.

It depends. If the turkey comes with a solution added, that has sodium. How much sodium is in the injection. How much sodium in the brine. I have gotten natural, but not organic raised, turkeys the past few years and brined them 18-24 hours, then injected them, and they weren't overly salty at all and have cooked them just brined and were excellent, too. This time I am brining, then smoking with a water pan and no injection.
