There is no way I would step into a cage with anyone. Just thought someone who collected cookbooks might want these, since they will virtually give them away in their weekly on line auction.

I live in the Jackson area too, and I enjoy watching that page. I’ve never bid on anything, but you see some interesting things come across from time to time.

We did auctions years ago. We have much too much stuff, so we haven't bought anything for a long time.
We went to one on Old Brandon Road, maybe 40 years ago. They had a cannon (Civil War era artillery piece) up for auction (found in some river in Alabama) and I told the wife I was going to buy it. We got there and there were at least 40 guys, all of whom had evidently told their wives the same thing. I did get one bid in before the price hit close to $8,000.00. Thank goodness I stopped before it sold for $12,000.00.
Now, purchasing a cannon (so I can fire it to do a proper retreat to accompany lowering the flag at 5:00 each day) is one of my many "Win the Lottery" daydreams. You will know I won if you hear a "BOOM" every day at 5:00, followed by retreat played on the loud speaker in my front yard.

Relatives lived on Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs. A neighbor who lived on the tip of a nearby point had a cannon that he often fired in the evening. You could really hear it roar across the water.
