The company that makes kitchen staples like CorningWare, Pyrex and the Instant Pot has entered bankruptcy proceedings in the U.S. and Canada.
Illinois-based Instant Brands said Monday that it has "initiated a voluntary court-supervised Chapter 11 process," due to an unmanageable debt load.

I'm glad I got my IP before they stopped making them

That's what they get for making good merchandise that doesn't break. A real shame that they're going out of business. Luckily my Instant Pot is still going strong

Typical private equity story. They were extremely over leveraged after their 2019 merger.
They’ll probably wind up breaking up the company and selling off the pieces.

People are often not content to have a moderately successful business. If one restaurant is a hit, open in a bigger building or open more locations. If the pressure cooker is a hit, start selling air purifiers and other crap with the name on it.
So often, those moves require borrowing money, and the whole thing crumbles. If they just stayed with one restaurant or product, they may have been just fine.
From the article: “They took on too much debt and now you have a company that was moderately profitable now underwater because of the debt load," he said. "That's a tale as old as time."

It’s a valuable brand. Some company will buy the brand, inventory, fixed assets and intangible property and continue to make them. Same goes for Corning Ware and Pyrex
