The main thing I'm into is the bourbon so I wouldn't mind that all
Those places I found are right in between all the different distilleries, so worth considering. And I'm sure a stripper would be willing to make the drive out for the right price, or you could just troll a local townie bar and see what you can scare up

A driver isn't that much. I get a limo in Napa and it ends up being like $200 a person for the whole day. Not much to have a free day with no worries or limits.
That's split 4 ways.

Yeah, that's not bad split 4 ways. When I went, there were 4 of us, but only 2 of us paying for the trip. On top of the house, the meals, etc., it just wasn't feasible. Besides, one guy with us wasn't much of a drinker so he ended up driving every day.

Will prob push for something like this since I would rather customize which distilleries I go to.

I think the tour is closed for renovations...

Any idea how long... that's one I was hoping to visit in april

Google was my friend... the four roses tour isn't totally closed, but it is modified for the time being

I might have had a good tour guide but they were easily the loosest with the pours. They were just passing the bottle around at one point
Woodford was the coolest property, I do that first when you have a clear head to really appreciate the scene. It is an awesome drive
There is some awesome golf around there and the Lexington race track is supposed to be tits.

I looked into that, but the tour I want is only offered on Friday which is most likely when guys would be flying in... that's why I'm thinking have a DD or rent car service for the day Saturday and hit what I wanna hit

Woodford and Maker's Mark definitely have the prettiest pieces of real estate.
My mind was blown with the 4 Roses building though. Literally 10 yards from the little country road it sits is where they were distilling bourbon. By that point though we had been to the sprawling campuses of Jim Beam, Buffalo Trace, Wild Turkey, etc. The difference in scale was impressive.

The hard hat tour at Buffalo Trace is really cool. Freddie, the guide, is a 3rd generation employee and full of interesting anecdotes. Would also highly recommend Willett. They've really done a ton of work to their facilities over the past few years and it's pretty impressive. Like others have mentioned, hire a driver if you can.
This is a really useful guide Gear Patrol wrote a few years ago, we planned a buddy's bachelor party using some of the info in here and had a blast. LINK

On a side note, is Churchill Downs worth the visit and tour?
My mom went with a group back in the fall and loved it. She brought me back a glass from the 1981 Derby. I was born that Saturday during the running of the Derby, so it was a neat Christmas present. She said the facility was great and the tour was decent.

Well it’s in Lynchburg Tennessee, but thourghly enjoyed Jack Daniels tour. I know it’s technically not Bourbon

Concur. Was trying to remember the name of that tour. We also did the one about the history of the architecture, which was just okay.
I liked the Willett facility, but the people there were not as friendly and welcoming as the other distilleries. Maybe it was just a bad day for them or something.

The most bang for your buck in one day is Buffalo Trace, Woodford, Four Roses, and Wild Turkey. They're all relatively close and Four Roses is the only one that's not that great.
You'd be better off staying in Lexington over Louisville if that's your plan though.

damn... the hard hat tour is already booked up for the weekend I am going to be there... in April!!!

Not a great looking place, but good location, cheap, waterfront, great outdoor drinking deck, and fricking bumper pool. I love bumper pool. It's a game of finesse and touch...so terrible to play when you're hammered.

I think my plan is going to be to have everyone fly into Louisville Friday during the day... party it up there... head to Lexington and do BT, FR, and woodford Saturday then party another night back in Louisville...fly home Sunday.

Decent plan. If I could make one recommendation to consider, I'd say drop 4 Roses since they're under renovations, and add Wild Turkey. Tough call though as the Wild Turkey tour was mostly forgettable. The vagueness of the tour offers while under renovations on the 4 Roses site was off putting to me. Made it sound like you don't even get to see much of the distilling process.
