After reading this article I'll be very careful eating rice and noodle dishes in restaurants...especially buffets

Your title should really say "improperly stored" rice and noodles. That's what the article says. Properly stored leftovers are fine.

The crux:
Don't eat crap that's been sitting out on a buffet all day, then refrigerated, then put back on the buffet the next day. Got it.

Experts have warned against the dangers of improperly storing leftover rice because items such as rice and pasta contain a bacterium called Bacillus cereus. The bacteria produces a toxin when heated and left out too long

Thank you for the feedback. You're correct. I've updated the title of this post.

Wait til you hear about baked potatoes

All it takes is one time. It’s usually rare, but can happen if you don’t take actions to lower your risk. Like I’ve said before, just because momma always left the gumbo on the stove all night doesn’t mean it will be safe this time.

Or how about how some unlucky folks take a quick dip in a bayou to cool off with their friends or go tubing on the many rivers in S.E. La. that are available to them, and come down with the brain eating bacteria or the flesh eating one that can kill you in days or cause you to lose limbs.
Weird shite happens to good people doing mundane things.

The one and only time I've had food poisoning was from spaghetti that had been left out. Always thought it was the meat sauce. Now I'm wondering if it wasn't the pasta.
