I know I can google and get the "expert" opinions, but I am interested in the temps folks here prefer.

Interesting. I'm guessing this is conventional wisdom and not necessarily a personal preference since 50.07 is pretty specific.

It would be fun to see this discussion on the OT.

This one is a wee warm. I need to calibrate my kegerator.

I guess being older than most, I just drink what / how I enjoy it.
I do not use frosty glasses, but I keep some glasses in the refrigerator to cool. I find that the beer's temp does not drop as much as quickly.
I do tend to get my ales colder and the darker richer beers slightly less.

Blaspheme if you put anything other than a lager/pilsner in those glasses.

naw, you are a youngster lol
I like my "creamy ales" in cooled glasses
do not frost them.
The heavier darker beers do not get cooled glasses.
besides I am learning as I go.
Can talk rums w you, but learning about beers.

"Cellar" temperature for high abv and heavy beers.

What about 8% IPAs for example. Is that considered high?
Do bars have different temps for beers on tap? I’ve never thought they do but maybe I haven’t paid attention.
Actually I’ve never noticed even at breweries that they have different temps.

Remember, you have to add a few degrees if you take the temperature rectally... maybe it’s subtract, I forget.

Drink it at whatever temp tastes best to you.
As a long time craft beer drinker, it kills me how uppity beer drinking has become.....the right glass at the right temp, the right pour, the right age, in the right light with a witty name...it's gotten ridiculous.
The most important thing you can do is, if you're buying IPAs, buy them fresh and store any style in at least a cool room or fridge after you make your purchase. Learn what tastes best to you instead of seeking out some arbitrary standard of what is the best* way to enjoy a beer. Gives you a good reason to drink several to get it right
