So, I have this cast iron dutch oven in which I constantly cook rice, the cajun trinity, and anything else I have on hand at the moment...

Hard to break this rice habit.

Is this rice from Vietnam or somewhere which makes it political?

Just watched a documentary series on Netflix entitled "Monarchy" chronicling the succession of English kings from Ethelred to beyond Cromwell.

It's sad how violent this world has always been.

I cooked pseudo-fried rice just last night with the trinity in a cast iron pot.

Came out okay.

I think the problem came from the chickens being Democrat.

The nest eggs were undersized

Hi Rex, you were on the verge of getting the admins attention with your off the wall openers.

I concur on the sentiment you expressed above.

That's a statement about us, as much as the world you know.

The 'solution' proposed by Adidam, which I share membership in with a few thousand others world wide

is unity.

unity is the answer to most questions.

unity is a concept that does not allow war, because there is no opponent, its all "we".

Obama's Nobel is due to his saying "we" humans have a few common interests. Lets make it all our business to handle those.
Let's make it happen.

Anyway, unity is the answer to most questions. Solve common problems as close to the region of origin as possible.
Share solutions globally.

I have no idea how to address the Africans. The rest of the world cant really afford to deal with it on such an intense level that it would apparently take to suppress the violent. serious weapons are universally available. Its on them for now. We have a few hundred advisors in central Africa. Some insane (Boku Haram) people are running amok on religious pretext killing Christians.
So yes, Rex, we humans have usually being a pack of territorial mammals. My absolute favorite non-religious book is Prometheus Rising, which does wonders addressing how we primates, humans, are programmed by our info-mechanisms, religions, politics. It should be your primer for addressing TD.
Let me know what you think. Zach up and volunteered to read it,
after one of my riffs on some wonder I had just read in it,
but I have not yet heard that he has.
There is so much material. There are exercises. Cartoons.
I have never done it all.

Tribal identification is the big impediment to world peace and peace in general. The Boku Haram stuff is typical for our species. Its just on a smaller scale than usual.
Ghengis Khan and Alexander were more typical.
Masses, tribes, on the march against rival gangs.
Blood thirsty, name callers.
You: pee-pee head.
Me: good

edit to note trip to food and drink. My first post on food and drink.

How about making it your last post here as well.

Or did Ghengis Khan cook rice in a cast iron pot?

At the risk of sounding communistic, I'm afraid that our major cultural institutions generally only make sectarianism, exclusionism, and xenophobia worse. It's all very saddening and maddening.

Unfortunately, "Prometheus Rising" doesn't seem to be a Kindle offering.

I'm from NI and my wife is from BR. We both grew up with rice. The great thing about it is it's cheap and whatever you have leftover goes to the dogs. They love rice. But they like it with some sort of flavoring. Today I had some leftover spaghetti sauce. Mixed it with the leftover rice. Microwaved for 40 seconds. Put it down on the door of the dishwasher and said "Children, come get some yummies."

No, they're not. But if you want to give me a link I'll be glad to read it.

Hmmm.... I guess that's OK if you only do it occasionally. I've read that onions are bad for dogs, and the rice might be a bit fattening.

I don't give onions to the dogs. I give them pasta with sauce from Monjunis. There might be 1 milligram of onion flavoring in that stuff.
Rice is great for dogs. That's why it's in all the bagged dog food. I just give them fresh rice instead of processed dog food rice.

The biggest myth is that dog food is best for dogs. It's not. People food is best for dogs. That's why mine have always outlived their life expectancy by 3 years.

Don't even bother trying to talk to zach about what is or isn't healthy for dogs. I've seen him say he gives his dogs leftover cookies and shite

Thanks for the link. I don't give my dogs any of that. I already knew the list. But if you can link to Spaghetti Sauce, which you did not, I'd be glad to read it.

I give them cookies. I do not give them shite. They find that out in the woods on their own. And when they roll around in it I've got to bathe them. It pisses me off but it's vestige of wolf.
