I wanted to take my gf to Beausoleil, but they are closed on a Monday. It's her birthday so I would like to take her somewhere nice that we have never been before in Baton Rouge area.

TIA

It might help to know where you have been before to answer the question.

Try the new Le Creole place. The menu reminds me very much of Beausoleil.

Been to Ruffinos and FMB. Also been to alot of well known restaurants in BR; Robertos, Stroubes, Ninfas. Tryin to think of others, but drawing a blank.

I've decided on Galitoires for now. What do ya'll think of that rest?

Have you been to Maison Lacour. I haven't, but my parents go quite often and like it a lot. I love the bottled salad dressing they make.

ETA: Never mind. It's not open on Monday's either.

Make a trip to Houma's House and eat at Latils Landing

N/M they are closed on Monday and Tuesday, but put it on your to-do list

Been there twice. I love eating there, it's one of my favorite restaurants(if they call it that) in Louisiana.

I would have taken her to another plantation if we had more time, but we dont with exams and all.

Sorry. I edited because it's closed on Mondays. I should have checked before suggesting it to you.

Haha it's ok, I did the same thing with Beausoleil. I got her hopes up then crushed them.

Beau is a good lunch place, I agree but for dinner she deserves something more special.Surprise her for lunch one day there.

Judging by the places you've already been, I'd say you've been treating her very well.

Maybe you could go somewhere for the day, but save the extra special for after exams and don't tell her where. Just tell her what to wear, pick her up and drive. Do the whole birthday thing at the restaurant by telling them it's a belated special celebration. That would be worth the wait for me.

Drive 50 minutes to Lafayette. Take the 90 exit, go south to Pinhook Rd (your gonna pass Gris' favorite jumbo lump place on left). Take right on Pinhook, go 3 miles to Cafe' Vermilionville on right (old yellow painted plantation home). Tell owner Ken Veron you're from BR and to fix you up.
