I mean, IWEI but aside from the other critiques you didn’t brown that sausage first. Bruh you lost out on a ton of flavor that way

I was following the directions on the box not trying to win a contest. That's why I titled it (Weekday) Gumbo.

But for the record, I have never browned my chicken or sausage before putting them in my gumbo.

Maybe I will try it next time. I do mention about how some people brown their sausage.

Are you posting this and doubling down on your "opinion" to drive views on your YouTube channel? Sure seems that way.

No...I don’t give a shite about my YouTube Channel.

In the me,me,me age of the land of TikTok...I don't care when I probably should.

I was just posting a video on how to make quick and very good gumbo.

And who gives a shite if I did? You don't hear me ask or beg for subscibers like other people do. If I was serious about getting YouTube views...you think I would put out that shitty quality of a video?

But feel free to subscribe to my channel. I frequently upload bullshite football plays or calls titled "How they Cheat" in reference to officials bad calls pointing out how most sports are influenced by the refs.

Here is my favorite:

I don’t understand this concept. If you don’t have time to do it right, cook something else.

Possibly. I'd at least try before judging. I've tried jarred roux and can't tell the difference and Karys makes reputable products. I might give it a try myself.

I’m sure it was ok. But just grab one of the jars of Cajun power chicken and sausage gumbo base.

Follow package directions and it is as good or better than 80% of the gumbos oriole make.

Don’t knock it till you’ve tried it. At 6.99 a jar or whatever it is a steal.

never tried Kay’s but I’ve heard it’s good.
my neighbor brought over a gumbo one time that was one of the best I’ve ever had…afterwards he told me he used blue runner canned gumbo base LOL

it’s a base.

Like a chunky thick roux type product with the cooked veg in it.

It is awesome. I use low sodium stock with it versus water. My wife thinks it is too salty if you use regular stock. She uses water and it is fine

It is awesome. I like to brown my smoked sausage, we use our deer/pork smoked or sonething like Rabideauxs. Cut boneless skinless chicken thighs in quarters and brown almost like building a base for jambalaya. Then add the jar, add the liquid then put meats back in. Ready in about and hour or so.

In a hurry we have just thrown everything in the pot at once and it was still really good. I can’t recommend it enough.
