Perhaps he is, but he isn't overtly ostentatious on his show like Bourdain is. Tony absolutely oozes pretension and smugness.

I don't really have a problem with the show
I just hate how a lot of them seem like carbon copies of each other.
I realize that there are only so many ways to make brisket or roast beef. But with that in mind, maybe he should focus on the things that are more off the cuff instead of the run of the mill shite that's on almost every show.
Guy's show was pretty much the first of its kind.
But yeah, let's blame him.

Jesus there is some super snob douchery going on in this thread. Did anyone argue that Guy is a better chef than Bourdain? Anyone? No.
I enjoy DDD for what it is. It's a fun show that gives mom and pop diners a little bit of recognition. Sometimes you will actually see chefs in some small place making some pretty creative shite.
Bourdain's shows aren't fun for me. He's a well respected chef but I dont want to watch him on TV. And his comments posted in this thread make me want to watch him even less.
And yes, DDD is responsible for the obesity problem in America. Clearly

Tony Bourdain's quote about Guy F.:
"Does anyone enjoy Diners, Drive-ins and Dives less than Guy Fieri? The guy must wake up every day and want to [expletive] kill himself. Another Denver omelet? Oh my god--and I have to feign enthusiasm! Oh great, chili! How do you make that?"

Looks like I misspoke
The people producing the show should probably focus on other things

I've never watched a whole episode because he doesn't look like he enjoys what he is doing at all.
At least Adam seems like he likes turning into a fatass.

@DadBoner
Worked on scene 2 of Roadhouse 2012: Pain Still Don't Hurt, (starring Guy Fieri) while I waited. Man, it's off the chain.

I dunno. Bourdain looks down on pretty much every television chef other than Andrew Zimmerman, and even then he gets his shots in. I think Bourdain considers himself more of the Ripert, Chang, Redzepi, Adria crowd.

Am I the only one who thinks the family of the cancer patient was a little out of line asking Guy to shave his head. He is a celebrity who took time to visit the kid and they are asking him to part with a major piece of his trademark look. I have no problem with him politely declining to do that.
They weren't serious about it.

Bourdain is horrid.
I'd rather watch Jim Cramer than Bourdain.
