How would you guys best clean an 80qt crawfish pot?
It's been sitting out all winter long and had some old crawfish water in it. I dump the water out and rinsed it with water but want to kill all the bad things in it.
Should I just fire it up and put water in it and get it to a rolling boil for 30 minutes or should I wash it down with soap and water then do the boil thing.
Or should I just throw some clorox in that bad boy and let clorox do it's magic?

You should dump the water and clean after each use lazy boy. I would imagine that boiling some water in it then a good scrubbing should do the trick.

That would kill everything sufficiently I think.

This is what I did.
I just washed it down with cascase and I'm currently boiling up the water.
And yes I was lazy. It's been sitting in the backyard for an entire year with crawfish water in it. Oddly it didn't have that bad of a smell.

Didn't the double wide next to you complain about the smell?

I would throw it away and buy a new one.

Get some use out of it during the off season.. If it's already sitting outside in the yard, at least, cook a gumbo, or wash some clothes in it..

I would use a combination of simple green and clorex with a lot of scubbing

The water didnt evaporate? How much was in it to start?
At that point I would say to hell with the oxidation level and just soak in oxyclean then scrub it.
Fill with water afterwards and boil some water in it for a while to get some of the oxidation layer back.
