Iv’e always loved “Kitchen Nightmares” whether it is fake or not, but how real are these shows?
Right now I’m watching “Gordon Ramsey’s 24 Hours to Hell and Back” (first ever episode) and this stuff seems too fake to continue watching.

My question is: Does anyone have actual facts on how real/fake this stuff is?

Concerning what?

I would imagine he yells at them. Kind of how he was trained. Apparantly he doesn't do that in his real kitchens though.

You have a bunch of half arse amatuer chefs being edited for drama.

I don't know but that dude is fun to watch. I don't care what it is. It's good entertainment. And he's a top notch chef so I roll with it.

The U.K. kitchen Nightmares are way better. Find on YouTube or maybe some type off BBC on demand

100%. The US audience has a love of excessive drama, so the format in the US version is fueled by that. The UK version is fantastic and Gordon is much more under control - though he does occasionally lose his temper.

Reality shows are planned and reshot. They’re not reality.

Fake. If you watch his original shows from the UK he didn't do 90% of the screaming and he did more teaching.

Its 100% his TV persona, I am good friends with 2 celebrity chefs (one of which is on Masterchef with him), and claims he is a very nice, family-oriented guy outside of his shows. He makes his living off of being a dick for TV when applicable.

He didn't scream very much in a lot of the earlier Kitchen Nightmare USA ones and teached there as well.

Hell's Kitchen he does it on purpose as it's part of the contest and what the viewers want.

Masterchef he is a bit more laid back as well.

The UK shows definitely show a better side of him and more to what he is really like. I always liked the UK F Word show.

There is a lot dramatized in all of his shows though. I don't think he dramatized the Amy's Baking one, I think they knew those lunatics would sue them, so they went with exactly what was shot.
