Don’t just downvote Pawl. At least attempt an answer.

That’s 6oz burgers for exactly every person. Seems good to me. I’m guessing there will be sides as well?

Pawl only eats pork ....no clue about beef.

The 1/3 lb patties from Cysco are excellent if you can get them. I can get Randall Garvin to get you a box if you don’t have a contact.

Good idea on the box burgers but I Doubt I have time unless Randall has them on hand. I need em tomorrow. I don’t guess Sam’s carries them?

You'll be good to go with that and sides. If kids, they won't eat a whole burger, teens however, will eat 2 to 3 of them-------------bottomless pits that they are.

I’m not sure he carries them, as I have usually given him a few days lead time. Not sure about Sam’s.

15 with some of that bacon/blue cheese slaw should be fine. 45 5.3 oz patties.

I've ordered from a butcher store and asked them how many I should get and at what weight. They're very helpful and it always works out. I've never been short, but never had but a few extra. Pretty much on the money. They make the patties pretty quickly and I pick them up.

Thats what I would do, if we are talking about Costco or Sams.

I prefer sliders for larger groups. A bit more labor intensive, but typically less waste. I would also go with quarter pound per person (10#). You have a whole bunch of eaters if they eat a quarter pounder and fixings and are still hungry.

15 was going to be my recommendation. Just over 1/3 pound precooked weight is a good size.

I'd definitely look into preformed patties for that many.

I went to Sam’s. I was going to go with 15lbs of pre-formed 80/20 patties. But the friendly lady in the meat dept gave me a protip of buying the tubes (real meat w/ no pink slime) and having them cut to desired thickness. It saved 20 something cents/lb vs the preformed patties. But the tubes only came in 10lb increments so I ended up with 20lbs of meat and spent more money.

20lbs yielded 52 patties

I agree about sliders—if you don’t want to do all sliders, at least do a few dozen if you’re expecting kids. You’ll have less waste if you can offer a “kid-sized” burger and bun to the smaller eaters. (I abhor food waste, it kills me to see how much gets thrown out by kids who take one or two bites and are done. It’s not their faults, they’re kids—but we offer things in portions way too large for many appetites.)

There will be extras. I lost will power and also bought a 3-pack of baby backs, a pork butt and 36 all beef franks.

What time tomorrow, Mr. Balls?

The drive can't be that far past Vicksburg.
