You’ll find some good options there, but the best seafood restaurant, not only in the city, but arguably in the region is Deanie’s and is also located in Bucktown.

Baw, Station 6 is like right there

It’s not all that good. Been in a slow downhill slide for a few years.
I would go to Dragos for sure for the Ousters. Or Maybe Mr Ed’s Oyster House
R&Os next door has good seafood in general, just not sure about oysters

My go to place to get seafood platter & dozen oysters, but it gets too busy sometimes. However that order can feed 3 regular appetite adults.
Personally the WB one is better since it has pizza, but the bucktown one is a solid 8/10 most of the time. Just make sure you get one of the older waitresses, the young ones do not compare --- the young ones do not hustle like the older ladies.

Meh and the clientele have been questionable since 2016ish. Station 6 is our go-to.
ETA: Deanie's is average and has zero atmosphere.

The neighborhood (Bucktown) facebook page had some NOFS regulars say that it has gone down hill... I did go a few months back and it was way over priced for what I got... Good food and better prices are at R&O's. Last time I went to Deanie's the po-boy was served on some kind of yankee hoagie bread. I told the hostess "I won't be back until they change the bread".

Man I’m all confused now. Looking to go somewhere I’ve never been for oysters and this is the only place I can think of. Really don’t feel like dealing with riff raff though

Based on my observations, NO Food and Spirits has basically at times just became and overflow space for the Deanies crowd to head to when the wait is too long at Deanies.

Go to Station 6! They have oysters. If you want other seafood, they have that, too!
The only complaint I have about them is that they removed the crab stew from their menu. It was the closest I have ever tasted to my Mamere's crab stew. SO GOOD!

Parlay’s has raw oysters for $8/dozen 3-7pm daily. No clue if they’re any good though.
Otherwise, Station 6 is great. Could also hit up Felix’s or Blue Crab on the Lakefront.

I like Blue Crab on the West End stretch better than N.O. Food & Spirits. I think BC has better fried food and other seafood dishes.

The food is fantastic. I got an oyster poboy last week; the oysters were beautifu.

Make sure you bring your own birthday cake, sit there for 3 hours and leave a minimal tip at best. You’ll fit right in. The food and place used to be fantastic but the clientele has run us out. Station 6 if you’re looking for “fancier” seafood options and R&O’s if you’re looking for your standard seafood.

Didn't they just close down or get bought out? I feel like I read that recently. Regardless, I was not a fan of this one. Food was too hit or miss for their prices.
I haven't been to NOF&S in quite some time, but I used to like their fried shrimp salad with honey mustard quite a bit. They do good fish there as well. If it hasn't gone downhill in the last few years then it's a good place.
ETA: seeing quite a few replies here saying NOFS has gone downhill, so I'd take them for their word.
I do like R&O's a lot. Their crawfish pies are killer, and it may be the best seafood gumbo in town. Their oyster poboys are great too. Can't go wrong

I think I'm going to give it a shot. I've been to most other places recommended so I was just looking for a new place to try. Hopefully it doesn't disappoint.

Go to Blue Crab for oysters and seafood over NO Food & Spirits. $75 cent raw and $1.25 charbroiled from 4pm-6pm Mon-Thurs. R&O's for a larger menu but no raw oysters there to my knowledge. Station 6 was sold but is still great but is higher end and not where I would say to go for oysters. But if you want great fish dishes like their redfish on a half shell, go to Station 6. Never, ever, go to Deanie's Bucktown.
