We (4 of us) are eating lunch there tomorrow in B'ham with some friends. I've heard two people can easily drop a bill at a Ruth Cris.

Let me go ahead and say that we consider Outback an "expensive" restaurant. We have only done Ralph & Kacoos and Ernest's with the 2 of us.

More expensive than Outback but I have not been in a long time.

Another place I don't understand the love for. Is it good? Sure. Is it worth the prices? Not to me.

If you think Outback is expensive, you'll really think Ruth's pricing is outrageous.

If you get the lunch size portions, it can be reasonable, but you will still spend $25 per steak. Sides dishes are a la carte.

It's very good. Try not to think about price when you go there - you are there for the experience.

Holy frickshit. We went to Superior Steakhouse once and I thought that place was absurd with their prices. And they were about 30$ a plate.

I hate a la carte. Gimme some damn sides.

The side dishes are big enough to share.

I am a fan of their au gratin potatoes.

Also, if you like Lobster Bisque, you must order it here.

It's pretty comparable to other prime steakhouses in price and quality.

Prime beef ain't cheap, but it's well worth it. Also, you can't duplicate their preparation even if you splurge for prime steak at home. They have custom ovens that cook the steaks at 1800 degrees. No gray on the edges and cooked exactly to your liking throughout.

Ruth's Chris Steak House was founded May 1965 in New Orleans by Ruth Fertel. Our specialty is aged corn-fed USDA prime beef, broiled in a trademark 1800 degree oven and served on a plate heated to 500 degrees to ensure the steak is sizzling hot.

true. i think they also dry-age the meat which condenses/intensifies the flavor. not sure if they do that for all the steaks or certain ones..

Good food. Very expensive. Typical corporate chain atmosphere. i.e. none.

Would not waste my money there.

p.s. I am not anti chain at all. The value in this one is way lacking though.

You get what you pay for. It is about the same or cheaper than some of the other national steak chains.
Outback doesn't even deserve to be mentioned in the same thread as Ruth Chris.

Well, then, you'd better hit the savings account if you're going to Ruth's Chris.
