I eat corn on the cob a lot. I really only eat it fresh. Don't bring the frozen shite up in here unless fresh is not available. My kids love to sit outside and shuck corn. However, to answer your question the correct way is around and around.

I borrow Uncle Luther's store bought teeth and chew away in style. So much easier than trying to gum it off the cob.

Round and round for a while, typewriter for a while. Pretty randomly.

Funny you ask. I was sitting in the SFO airport about an hour ago (545 am) watching a lady typewriter her cob of corn. My thought was not so much HOW she was eating it. But who eats fricking corn on the cob in the airport at 545am?

I find the bite and chew method has been working well the past few years.

You should see my dog eat corn on the cob. I just turn it and he cleans it up better than any human I've ever seen.

I knew a girl in high school who could eat corn on the cob through a picket fence.

There were so many good answers to this question:
1 - Reverse sear
2 - Never with Okra
3 - Craft Corn on the cob only
4 - Only 12 year old or greater, preferably 24 year old.
5 - NOLA Corn Only
6 - I just eat the cheeks
7 - Whole Foods Deli only.
8 - Dark Brown shoe brown. The darker, the better.
9 - No where in Chicago. No decent corn was ever cooked in Chicago.
10 - Only wild grown corn. Farm raised corn is poison.
11 - I had some from a small Bistro in Paris once. Can't remember the name of the place, but you should try theirs if you ever get there.
And my personal favorite:

You can mix and match the words in those 2 sentences and still be accurate.

Roasted some silver queen corn over the 4th weekend. Consumed on the cob in typewriter fashion.
