Sac a lait is the name of his restaurant he is opening in New Orleans. I'm not the owner. Food hasn't slacked off at hot tails. I think he gave it to his sous chef to run.

Is it Bueche's Bar again? Last time I went it was called Parrot's. I do love that place.

island side? I don't think so. The Sand Bar on LA 1 is in the old Bonaventure's Landing so they are right on the water. Never been there tho.

Not sure if Bueche's Bar is the old Parrot's or not. I don't run that side of the river often, so I never knew of it actually. But its not far from the house and there ain't much of a dress code so...

Wrapping up my trip here to Paragon --- like I said, stopping at Hot Tails on the way home. People keep telling me to try a burger or crab cake croissant, but I'm leaning towards the fried rabbit w/ red beans & rice.

I had the blue cheese burger once.
Solid.
Tad messy, as most those are.

I've eaten there 5 or so times. Quality ingredients, fresh seafood, great menu variety, pretty decent atmosphere. They just need to tone down the seasoning. A little too much red pepper for my taste. Tends to mask the flavor of the entree. I've only eaten the fried food though. I will def try the BBQ shrimp next time.

Hell, theres a tragic little place called Bueche's Bar on the Island side of the river that has some of the best char grilled oysters I ever eaten. But it is the epitome of "hole-in-the-wall". Good groceries though.

My camp is about 3/4 mile from Bueche's. We go there a lot. The food is legit. His oysters are a gem. Has fried ribeye bites that are the bomb. Burgers are good and they have the biggest chicken tenders I have ever seen. FYI...it is a hole in the wall and you might have to play fetch with his dog while waiting for your food...yes, his dog is in there sometimes...even has a pic of her on the menu!!!

The owner has "The Bayou Bucket Challenge". He takes 6 of the cheapest, nastiest beers(Natty Lt, OMB, etc) and dumps them all in a tin pail and floats the cans on top. Then you are timed while trying to drink it all. I think the record is now 1 min 20. secs. Had a friend try and picked in the bucket with about a 1/4 left!!!

No because it's not parrots anymore but the building is the same. The menu on that website is not accurate. It's way different and better!!
