Most beers I'll just do an autosiphon out of ease.
If it's a hoppy beer or something where I'm more concerned about oxygen, I use a floating dip tube that I bought. It replaces the regular dip tube, and pulls the beer from the top. So I can do a completely oxygen free transfer. It has a filter on it, so i dont get too much hop particulate, but it's still best to use a bag/mesh filter for the hops. Otherwise the dip tube can get clogged and you have to open it all up, ruining the goal. Total yield is typically lower on hoppy beers, probably only about 4 gallons... The only time I've noticed oxygen intrusion is when I don't purge the serving keg. I've learned it's best to fill it completely with starsan, and push it all out with CO2, then force transfer to that keg with CO2.

Double brew day tomorrow while the kids are away. What's on your radar this weekend?

Planning to buy the ingredients for a German pilsner today. We'll see if I actually can get around to brewing it.
My brewing is about to be cut down alot. Got the first little one due pretty soon here.

Mine never really fell off when we had kids. It slowed a little but i still maintained about 10 beers/year. They are 4 and 7 now and i'm trying to knock out 18-20 beers this year.

That's pretty cool. I think at this point I'm fine with 4 gallon batches since I don't drink as much as I used to. Thanks for the keg idea.

Well, took about 8 hours or so for this double brew day. Finished around 5. Started later than I wanted trying to figure out some stuff on beersmith.
5 gallons of a mixed ferm saison and 5 gallons of an all Brett beer.

Is that just for this year? You brew pretty often.

I’ve been averaging about 9-10 or so beers a year.

Brewed a German pilsner last night. Hopefully it's a perfect summer beer.

My chinook bine is 4 1/2' tall now. Centennial is working it's way up with a second bine attached to the same twine. And then the cascade completely stalled out.
No flowers yet. I'm not expecting much in terms of yield this year.

I killed the last of my italian pils last night, so i'm planning on brewing up a german pils Sunday while it's raining.

Planning on brewing a graf this weekend.
Light munich, caraamber, and naked oats. Then adding 1 gallon of apple juice for the 3 gallon batch.

Anyone know the best place to get ingredients in the Nashville area? Technically I'm south but I would drive for a good place since I don't brew often. Or does everyone just mail order these days?

Well, the spot i chose for my hops isn't as sunny as it was in March. Right now full sun starts probably around 11:30, and then ends around 4 or 5.

Kegged my graf this weekend. 22% of my sugars were from the apple juice/concentrate I added. Tastes like a cider and I get no malt flavor. Think need to cut down the apple juice to around 10% or less of the sugars.

I haven't gotten into ciders or grafs mainly because my only experience with them was back in college drinking woodchuck. I hear there is one that Pelican is about to start distributing that is fantastic, however.
I've brewed 4 beers in the past 2 1/2 weeks. The saison and brett beer was brewed on 5/21. I brewed up a German pils on 5/28. It's currently on a diacetyl rest. And i brewed up a belgian farmhouse ale with aged hops, last weekend. That's 9 beers brewed this year, so far.
Up next, is a west coast pliny the elder style clone that will be brewed in a couple weeks.
