Yeah, DOTD requires it every five years.

Any recommendations for CO2 in the New Orleans/Jefferson Parish area?

I always refilled at the fire extinguisher place on Magazine near Courtyard and Barrel Proof. Not the cheapest option and they make you buy some cap to put on your tank, but it was close and quick. They also did my hydrostatic test when I needed a recertification on my tank.

Good luck with that. LA Fire Extinguisher closes early on Fridays. They may say 4:00, but you better get there by 3:30. Ask me how I know.

I called them this morning. I'll be there around 1 just to make sure.

This thread inspired drunken me to order a second co2 tank and regulator last night so I don't have to pull the tank out of the kegerator for brewing purposes. And 3lbs of hops of course.

I'm very tempted to buy a backup tank. Or buy a 10 lb. tank and make that the primary tank, and keep the 5 lb. tank for travel purposes.
ETA: Screw it, just going buy a 10 lb'er and have the 5 lb'er refilled and tested next week.

That's what I did. I use the 5 pound tank for the jockey box.

that's a good idea. I think I will do the same if I can come across a deal on one.

Yea I bought a 10 lb tank and then a dual secondary regulator so j can have 20psi for Belgians/Hefes and 10 for IPAs. I'll move the 5lb and the single regulator to the brewing area

Do it Bug. I grabbed a pre filled 10 lb'er today at the homebrew shop.

Pulled a sample from my mule gose, er, berliner. Turns out I forgot the salt and coriander.
There is no way I'm going to drink 4 gallons of this.

You can still add the salt and maybe the ground coriander in a tea ball or something.

It just doesn't taste very good. I'm considering racking it off the limes and adding Brett, because why not

Drinking the first pour of the grisette. It attenuated a little more than I'd hoped, so I now have a 5.2% grisette. I was wanting less, but it was second generation yeast fermenting at 80 degrees, so it chomped right on through those sugars. Carbonation is still low, but this will be a nice beer when fully carbed. Hitting the spot right now after mowing the grass in 100 degree heat.

Drank some more of mine this weekend. I'm definitely going to brew this one again, but this time late/dry hop the hell out of it with Citra and Amarillo.
