I use all cam locks. If you go with barb fittings you won't be able to move hoses around a lot before the hose gets too loose to make a good connection.

If you're not planning on moving hoses around and just using it for one purpose barb fittings will work fine.

Is it just generally tight enough if you're using say 5/16" barbed fittings with 1/2" ID Silicone tubing. Aren't there some plastic hose clamps or something?

Just trying to see how cheap I could get into a pump setup sometime down the road.

This is what I have on all of my connections:
Copper Connection

Then I use the 1/2 silicon tubing with these clamps when needed:

I think that's what I was looking for and thinking about.

Thanks.

I saw that and wondered the same thing. Not 100% sure just yet.
Most interesting part was the fact that it was 1st runnings only.

Pulled a sample of my brett IPA tonight. Sitting around 1.006 with some nice brett character. About time to dry hop it.

I need to do one of these soon. I've been distracted with other brews and keep putting it off.

I checked my sour farmhouse last night and it's a LOT more sour than farmhouse... Oh well made beer...

I've got a DIPA in the fermenter now and a kolsch on deck afterwards. Maybe I'll get to the brett beer after those.

I started to check my sour last night too, but I was so disappointed in how bad it was last time that I didn't have the heart to try it again. It's only about 6 months old, so still plenty of time to get right.

My keezer is acting up after moving. It's barely chilling. It was cooling for a little bit after being put in place, but now it's not cooling anything lower than the upper 50s. I've got a couple things to check out on it, but it's not looking good. Something might have banged around in the move and opened up a coolant leak. It's had a good 7 year run and survived two moves before this.

Ugh. That sucks. I should be preparing for that too as all of our keezers and fermentation chambers and deep freezers are pre-loved.
