I did 75 minutes, but it was pretty vigorous. Didn't detect any DMS.

I should start doing this... I boil for 90 mins for no other reason than I've been told to.

This was the first beer during my double brew day a few weeks ago. I was cutting corners to save time.

But seriously, I've used pilsner malt enough and never had an issue with DMS, even with a 60 minute boil. But this was definitely the largest percentage of pilsner I've used.

I almost exclusively do 60-minute boils, unless I sparge more volume that I wanted... turned my Imperial Red IPA into a 120-minute boil because of that. I guess I did some math in my head wrong and ended up with 7.5G or so pre-boil volume. Usually I shoot for 6.5G.

I did a 45 min boil over the weekend, ended up lower on volume anyways so I figured why not.

Think I did a 30 minute boil with Pilsner for a pale ale a few months ago. Turned out fine.

Couldn't do it... I'd be standing over the fermenter sniffing the air lock checking for DMS.

btw ISO mini-fridge style kegerator if anyone knows someone wanting to get rid of one. Looked at buying online and the shipping is retarded expensive.

Those things seem like they pop up on CL every other day.

Yep, best IPA I've ever brewed. Right on the line between IPA and DIPA at 7.5%. Mostly pilsner malt, hopshot for bittering, then bunches of Citra and Mosaic all after 10 minutes. 7.5 oz after 10 minutes and another 5 in the dry hop.

It wouldn't kill you to go ahead and fill a bottle or two before your football draft

What yeast did you use on that IPA? Looks juicy.

I just got a chance to sample my IPA last night.
100% Pilsner
1.2oz 13.7% AA Simcoe at 60
3.5 oz Simcoe at 180 whirlpool
3.5 oz FF7C at 180 whirlpool
3.5 oz Simcoe at Dryhop
3.5 oz FF7C at Dryhop
Fermented with YB Vermont at 65

I ran out of CO2 the day before I left town, so I had to naturally carb it in the keg to have it ready in time for a bachelor party this weekend. The sample last night was tasting pretty good, despite not being crashed cooled yet. Still had a little hop particles in it, making it a little bit more bitter than I hope it finishes after cooling.

What kind of attenuation did you get from this yeast?

The gigayeast version always finishes a point or two higher than I want. Was going to try this version or the omega version soon.

I forget what my OG was, but my FG was 1.012. I think this was a third gen pitch - either second or third, but I think third.

Slowly putting together a Session IPA of sorts to brew this weekend. Brewing 10 gallons for my son's birthday party and a BBQ competition I am in. I wanted to use an interesting base grain so I went out and bought:

19.lbs of Red X malt
1 lb Crystal 15

For 10 gallons of about 1050 wort. Going to throw in 2 oz of Columbus at 60 of about 63 IBU's. Then looking to use 4.5 oz of Azacca and 2 oz of El Dorado at the end but I am uncertain if that is enough. i do not feel like buying hops since I have a ton so I may throw in some Cent or something to help out.

Fermenting with Omega's DIPA yeast since I had a slant of that I starting building up.

Thoughts about the late addition hops?

Yes, do them all in the whirlpool at 180 degrees. Toss in some of that Centennial as well. Use more for this addition than you do for dry hop.
