I was uploading the balance through my phone with no issues. However my wife’s band wouldn’t upload through the website, kept getting an error. She had to wait in line to upload

Wristbands were working fine last night. It was just awkward and slow buying stuff

I have loaded over $100 on my account, which shows up perfectly on their website, and my wristband shows 0.....
They lost a faithful customer this year. And I am not the only one. I held my cool because it’s for charity, but I saw multiple people losing their mind and cussing. Can’t really blame them

Absolutely love the event, but the cashless system is so hit and miss. Volunteered at a liquor tent last night and we didn’t get a scanner until nearly 5:15, almost two hours after gates opened. Went as a patron today and loaded money on my wristband two hours beforehand, only to be told I had zero balance when trying to get a beer. Frustrating, but it eventually got fixed. Hated the hoggy dollar system at the time, but at least it was reliable and easily convertible.

There really isnt a foolproof way to do it. The wristbands are great, in theory. I can't imagine someone who isnt tech savy fooling with them though

I’d find a way to link the card to the wristband and take it directly from the card. There’s too many moving parts and it’s a disaster currently.

I truly can’t imagine either of my parents dealing with it

Yeah, just got back to BR. There’s still $42 on my wristband that wasn’t appearing anywhere I tried to buy stuff. :(

Same thing happened to me. I had $25 preloaded and uploaded another $50 successfully but wanted to add another $50 and nothing would show up. I saw people being turned down food because the money wasn’t loading to the bracelet. One was my girlfriend so it was funny but others weren’t laughing. Ended up going to the stand and swipping and adding more money but no one could tell me how I was going to get my $50 back. Overall it was a fun event, good food, good beer, wasn’t too crowded. Also saw a baw wearing this shirt. Was it Arse?

You’re being dramatic. Sucks what happened but Hogs isn’t the first nor the last event to use this system for payments. Hopefully they will go another route next year, but really they “lost a customer” for something they have no control over?
Agree with the person who mentioned just linking the wristband to a card and having it pull money as you buy. I’ve done that at other festivals.

I’m another customer that won’t be back. It was genuinely miserable.
What gives me faith is that hogs has shown they’ll make changes when something goes wrong. If they make changes I’ll be back. If they don’t, I won’t. And I’m not the only one. I was with with a whole group of people who have been going for years. This was the first year we all agreed it was miserable. Even the hobby dollar disaster a few years ago wasn’t as miserable.
ETA: I go to festivals all over. The best way to do it is what I mentioned above. Link it to a card and let the payment come directly from the card.

So you aren’t a lost customer.
I’m sure they care about what happened and will deal with it accordingly. Jesus the event isn’t even over yet. Patience.

That’s fair, I’m not a lost customer. I will always give hogs credit for their adaptability.
But I am a potential one

Several people I talked to had tickets they purchased in advance but decided to go with only $20 on their wristband and top up later. Rookie move. Any event with hundreds of people makes for terrible internet service. You know you drink heavily and eat? Load that thing up with $100+ and let them refund it later if you have leftovers.

I showed up with my wife and two kids from 45 minutes away
Loaded $100 on my wristband
Wasn’t able to but a single thing and had to leave
That’s dramatic?

I waited for about 3 minutes the last time I topped off. Didn't find it that much of an inconvenience.
The first two times there wasnt a line.

The customer service is amazing there. Did you show them the problem?
Posted on 3/30/19 at 8:02 pm to fightin tigers
Yep. Went to two different “top up booths”
Everything from their end showed I had $100 on my account
Every time I tapped my wristband it showed 0
I was one of many his was happening too. They were very nice and felt awful about it but it is what it is

I can vouch for this. Exact same thing happened to me.

I think what he’s talking about is that after about 12-1pm, all top-offs weren’t working. Meaning people were loading money into their wristband and it wasn’t showing up even though you could see it on your CC statement.
Like I said, it sucks. But to say an event raising money for families with dying children “lost you as a customer” based on a technical error that has absolutely nothing to do with them and has more to do with internet service + a third party vendor is dramatic.
Sometimes shite happens. I’m sure they more than wanted to take people’s money.
