Today was another reminder that it’s the best festival in town all year…

Our favorite bites were:
—Hoggystyle boudin Meximelt & those Gallo ribs
—Lard & in Charge “Herzinfarkt” (stuffed plantain)
—Chits & Piggles boudin wontons
—Team MOP cracklins
—and no question, Porkbelly Cartel tacos were the standouts…we got one of each taco. Ranked, but we’re splitting hairs here:
1) Pork belly burnt ends
2) Brisket
3) Beef cheek barbacoa boudin
4) Whole hog

Ruger, thanks to your good folks for sharing that smoked goodness

ETA: also good to bump into Toof at the cartel

It was good to meet a few fellow brethren at the festival. If I’m not upfront usually someone comes and says there is a guy talking about tigers and I know what they mean I’m glad everyone enjoyed the tacos cause that table is hot! Heat gloves don’t stop blisters in a couple places.

Glad to report back the Porkbelly Cartel took home 3rd place grand champion overall! Great win for the team, especially it being our second year.

Thanks for the shout out! We came in 5th overall. Heck of an accomplishment for our team. Did you happen to try any other food besides the ice cream?

It's a rip off that and the majority of the money used to primarily go to charity. Now a fat chunk of it goes to two guys pockets who've used this event to get famous and enrich themselves. At this point it's outgrown itself and lost it's mission imo

It was absolutely amazing. Probably the best festival in the south right now life cycle wise. Still has maintained the unique characteristics it developed early, just the right amount of people. Great food, great music, great party. You sound like a pussy.

And they're still contributing more money to the cause than the cause was receiving before this event began. Their time and work put into the event isn't free and they deserve to be compensated.

Icegator parroting talking points he has heard.

Talks as if a festival like this should come together with part-time planning from 2 people.

It sucked having issues with our point of sale system from jump street, but I will say the Hogs crew was over there nonstop trying to help. When they saw we had generator power they ran our own antenna to pick up signal. Saturday got so busy we used a hot spot for a bit, but it wasn’t for lack of assistance on their part.

One of the things that impressed me most was the trash service. They constantly walked around picking stuff up, changing out trash bags. I know they probably never hear it but kudos to them for doing a good job.
