Check out travel board there is a monster thread about Boston

That thread sucks.
But really OP - what are you looking for? Area you’re staying in? Happy to help out.
The answer is “a lot.” I think a lot more than it’s given credit for. But I’m biased.

I mean this with all due respect, but I would advise against all of these.

Go to Warren Tavern near Bunker Hill

We enjoyed Moo just off of the commons this past summer.

We went over the summer. Daily Catch was great Italian food in North End. Dinner was served in the pans it was cooked in. Seats only 20. Neat experience.
Also enjoyed Boston Sail Loft for lobster. Not as touristy as Legal Seafood.
You will have fun. Downtown Boston is safe and easy to walk. Don’t rent a car if you don’t have to.

We didn’t care as much for Legal Seafood, but it isn’t bad.
Really enjoyed Union Oyster House for what it is...great history, great raw bar and the best chowder I found on our trip.
I wish we’d spent more time with the Italian options.

Depends on where you're staying and what you want to eat. We stayed at the Lenox when we went (by the end of the Boston Marathon, where the explosion happened). Atlantic Fish Co. across the street is great for seafood, raw bar and clam chowder. Dirty Water Pizza Co. is good if you want a slice or pick up a pie to bring back to the room after a long day. Carmelina's for Italian will not disappoint. Right down the street from the 2 famous cannoli places, but the have excellent food. Get the Sunday Macaroni plate - you'll think you're at Tony Soprano's house or in the middle of Scorcessi movie. Soooooo good.Ate a lot of Asian food as my wife is Chinese, but don't figure you want all the asian places to eat in town as well. Enjoy.

Nailed the description of Legal. It's...fine. Not that you'll have a bad meal, per se, but it's definitely nothing to seek out. If the OP is looking for seafood, I'd highly recommend Row 34.
Union Oyster House is pretty touristy, which is why I tend to steer people away from it. Again, not that the food is terrible or anything, just not a local experience. Though some people don't care about that, and that's fine too.
OP, I'd look at:
Yvonne's
Mariel
Row 34
Eastern Standard
Tigermama
Island Creek Oyster Bar
Eataly (if you've never been to one before) and the restaurant Terra upstairs
Table Season to Taste
Toro
Gaslight
Mida
Myers & Chang
Fox & Knife
Also, since you'll be here for the Bama game, you can meet up with the Alumni group at The Baseball Tavern.
If you want to check out the thread HGG was referencing, click here. It needs some updating, but most of it is still useful.
Fair warning, it's likely going to be getting cold this weekend. I even saw snow on the forecast for Friday.

Will y'all be at the Baseball Tavern on Saturday?
My dude will be recovering from surgery, but if he's feeling well enough to fend for himself, I will probably meet a friend down there for the game.

Not this year. We're going to be lame and stay home. Every year I've watched the Bama game at the BT, we've lost. Including the year we went prior to even living in Boston. Have to change up the juju.
Hope the surgery goes well (if it hasn't occurred yet)!

Thanks! It's tomorrow morning. Pretty routine, but I'm a nervous wreck. He isn't, of course
Once he's 100%, let's all grab that dinner
