Looks interesting, I know it's owned by the Umami people. Thought we might try it out instead of Superior the next time I take the fam out for Mexican.

I went when they first opened and had the tuna tostadas. They were amazing.

Haven't visited in a few months but made the trip out during lunch. Mrs. BTB (no pics) showed me they had an udon noodle bowl with birria in it so I decided to give it a try. Menu itself is now really fancy and has cardstock pages. Apologies for my boomer energy as I decided to take a shitty photo with the flash on.
Prices are still pretty standard with restaurants nearby. Chips & salsa (cold, if you care whether it's hot or cold) still taste great, and I'm pretty sure the salsa is made in house.
Udon noodles with birria, cilantro, onions, corn, jalapenos. It was damn good. Had plenty of spice and the closest comparison I can give it to is just a milder spice to the Spicy Tonkotsu at Boru. Everything about it tasted pretty fresh as well, although the jalapenos looked possibly jarred? Not the worst complaint if they were. The broth itself had a tiny bit more tomato flavor to it than I'm used to. We usually go get the queasbirria tacos from Birria & Barbacoa which has very little tomato flavor in their broth, my comparison to that as well.
Manager came over to our table twice after being served and was polite and courteous. He's done that every single time I've visited (maybe four times this year) while the lunch hour was pretty slow overall for them. Waitress was great too. Food came out very quick and we didn't spend too long a time waiting around.

I went Friday night because of this post and it was very good and very filling. My 2yo tore up those noodles. It’s an off menu item now but I hope they add it to the menu full time.

Yup. Waitress said it's part of a special, but I didn't see any type of specialty menu print out. We just showed her what we saw in a baton rouge facebook foodie post and asked for it.

Pictures on the website looked fufu, but the prices look good. I'm conflicted.

Quite the adventurous eater you have. I may even think twice about that spicy looking bowl.

That's good to hear.
I'm gonna check it out this week.
