Has anyone heard any news lately about an Aldi in Baton Rouge?

I read that they were building a warehouse in Central a while back and that there was supposed to be a store somewhere in BR but I haven't heard anything in a while.

They have ads running for managers in Baton Rouge. I think they started building a store in Lafayette

The one in Lafayette should be done in a few months. The one near me, anyway. There is talk that we’re getting more than one.

Aldi is literally the worse grocery store I’ve ever been to. One opened less than a mile from me last year. Went in once, walked around fir a bit and left . Never went back. Don’t understand the fascination. It’s like a dollar general grocery store.

I think it’s a great store. The ones I’ve been to have been clean, well organized, and had a decent variety. It’s a good place to go for cheap, basic staples.

They're supposed to build an Aldi in Central near the corner of Wax and Sullivan, first one near BTR I believe. Looking forward to the extra traffic.
