Overpass area is always a good spot for a slightly off the beaten path graduation lunch. Chow Yum Phat or Overpass Merchant.

The Little Village never disappoints.

Is the family based in BR, or is there a common direction out of town? St. Francisville, Denham, New Roads, Lafayette? I'm sure there will be 1000s with the same idea as you in BR.

Will your family be heading back home after graduation? If so, you may do well to find somewhere on the way home, just to get away from the places close to campus. I’d imagine it’s
Going to be a zoo trying to eat in S. BR.

That’s what reservations are for, it’s not a difficult concept. Who wants to graduate from LSU and then go eat in New Roads? You graduate once, get reservations and go enjoy a meal in BR where you just graduated from.
Graduation happens 3 times a year at LSU that I know of (fall, spring, summer). I’ve never heard of BR becoming a zoo. Campus gets crowded and restaurants get crowded as well, but it’s far from a zoo. Just like a regular Saturday night, really.
